Elyse M. Jerome

Associate Attorney

Background and Expertise

Originally from Michigan, Elyse completed her undergraduate studies at Michigan State University where she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science: Pre-Law with a concentration in Psychology. During undergrad, she worked as an undergraduate learning assistant for Constitutional Law and Introduction to Global Politics. She was also a member of Kappa Alpha Pi Law Fraternity and volunteered at a homeless shelter in her free time.

Elyse’s passion for family law began during her internship with the Michigan Coalition to End Domestic and Sexual Violence, where she worked under a supervising attorney to research issues that survivors of domestic and sexual abuse may face, as well as how to assist in legal proceedings. Working with people during such an emotional time in their lives made her realize that she wanted to not only provide legal services, but also show clients that she is an empathetic and supportive advocate.

Elyse returned to Michigan State to earn her Juris Doctorate. While at MSU, she participated in the Immigration Law Clinic where she worked with a multitude of clients, including working with domestic violence survivors to obtain a U-Visa and safely find refuge. She also interned for a firm in Okemos, Michigan where her practice focused on civil litigation, working on cases involving family law, sexual abuse and assault, and medical malpractice.

Interests and Hobbies

In her free time, Elyse enjoys hiking at Radnor State Park and yoga. She also enjoys spending time with her friends and exploring new places in Nashville.
